Topography – Seattle Waterfront

Neon lights from the Seattle Great Wheel dance across the surprisingly-calm water of the Seattle Waterfront.

Description

Late one afternoon, I walked along the Seattle Waterfront, camera in hand. Just after sunset, I stopped at Pier 56 — near the Seattle Great Wheel. As I looked out across Puget Sound, I focused, not on the skyline or the distant mountains, but on the water below. The neon lights of the Ferris wheel seemed to dance across the surprisingly-calm water.

After a few minutes, I took out my camera. I fired off a few shots. The resulting photo, Topography, was abstract — almost psychedelic. It exposed the subtle peaks and valleys of the calm water along the Seattle Waterfront.
