The conditions at the Oceanside Pier were nearly perfect. Some patchy low fog was starting to roll in, and the wet sand looked like a mirror. But, it was still missing something.
Then, as if I had staged it, a young surfer walked right by me on his way towards the ocean. As he passed in front of the sun, surfboard in hand, he looked up and admired the Oceanside Pier. It was perfect.
